Competitions
Not only have Murray School students performed with many Irish Dance and Music stars (see our Performances page,) but they are highly accomplished competitors.  The Murray School has held two regional solo championship titles from our students placing first in their Western US Regional Solo Championships.  Our students regularly place in the top three, top five, top 10 and top 20 positions in the Western U.S. Regional Championships and have qualified for the World Irish Dance Championships for almost ten years.  Murray students have also placed in the top 30 at the World Championships as well as top 10, top 15 and top 30 in the North American Championships.

The Murray School sponsors an Irish dance competition called The Portland Feis (pronounced fesh.)  The Portland Feis has the honor of being the longest running Feis in the US Pacific Northwest.  This yearly event brings together competitors, both children and adults, from  all around the West Coast, the US and Canada to compete in solo and group dancing as well as music competitions.  The musicians for The Portland Feis are internationally renowned and the distinguished overseas adjudicators have come from Ireland, England and Australia to be a part of this prestigious event.
